Originally from Sydney, Australia, producer, writer, and stage director Ian MacKenzie-Thurley has a degree in music from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and post-graduate study in theatre directing from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA). Ian has worked in artistic, programming, and administrative roles in Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States, including productions at the Sydney Opera House and the 2012 London Olympics Cultural Olympiad. In 2015 Ian was appointed executive director of the Fitton Center for Creative Arts in Hamilton, Ohio. In the past 10 years he has overseen a comprehensive restructure of the Fitton Center’s artistic programming, community outreach & engagement, branding, and administration.
