Jay Gilman

Vice President, The Compass Group

Jay Gilman brings more than 15 years of nonprofit experience, having raised tens of millions of dollars for organizations in arts, health, education, conservation, and public-private partnerships. A former artistic director of Minnesota Fringe, he bridges programming and fundraising, launching membership models, new programs, and expanded accessibility. As a peer educator, Jay has led national workshops and supported more than 60 professionals through the University of Pennsylvania's Center for Social Impact Strategy. He has served as a grant evaluator for the National Endowment for the Arts and multiple state arts councils. Jay holds an M.Sc. in nonprofit leadership from the University of Pennsylvania, a certificate of nonprofit board consulting from BoardSource, and a BA from Goucher College.
