Bianca Caniglia
Bianca (she/her) is a queer Midwestern filmmaker and theatre artist, currently living in Toledo. After graduating from the University of Toledo in 2018, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in environmental science and a Bachelor of Arts in women’s and gender studies, Bianca moved to Chicago, where she spent five years strengthening her writing and directing skills and acting in plays. She studied for two years under the mentorship of Sundance juror and director Madeleine Olnek. Bianca has directed five short films and plans to direct her first feature within the next five years. Her latest short, "Other Dan’s Ex-Girlfriend," won the Jury Prize at Momentum Toledo’s Brood X Film Showcase, and she couldn’t be more honored by her hometown.
Matt Foss
Matt received his MFA in acting from Chicago’s Roosevelt University and Ph.D. in theatre studies and directing from Wayne State University in Detroit. In 2016, his touring production of “The Glass Menagerie” performed at Russia’s Moscow Art Theatre. His plays have received Chicago Jeff Awards for Outstanding New Play, Production, and Ensemble, as well as numerous Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) National Awards. He also received the Kennedy Center’s David Mark Cohen National Playwriting Award. Matt was named one of the Austin Film Festival and Movie Maker Magazine’s Top 25 Screenwriters to Watch for 2023. He was the inaugural recipient of the Association for Theatre in Higher Education/KCACTF Prize for Innovative Teaching in 2013 and the 2020 University of Toledo Edith Rathburn Outreach and Engagement Excellence Award. He is a member of the Writers Guild of America (EAST) and the artistic director of Toledo’s Public Works Collaborative.
Christy Frank
Christy Frank is a filmmaker, photographer, and writer based in the Great Lakes region. She is passionate about storytelling and art that intersects environmental, human, and wildlife conditions. She combines a background in art, journalism, business, and biology to help manage projects from start to action and to convey stories from a unique perspective. Christy’s work has appeared in bioGraphic, National Wildlife Federation, PBS, Great Lakes Now, Audubon, CBS News, PBS Nature, several galleries, and for numerous nonprofit causes.
Matthew Deimling Johns
Matthew was born in Toledo and received his bachelor’s degree in communication from Ohio University. In Denver, Matthew was privileged with extraordinary production experience working under the Academy Award-winning post-production team at Milkhaus. Matthew received a master’s in cinema direction, and post-graduate in cinematography from the Film and Audiovisual School of Catalonia (Barcelona, Spain), where he wrote and directed the two short films “Encore” (2021), and “Wilis” (2022). Matthew is now developing an independent film production incubator, Brood X. Last year, as part of Momentum – Toledo’s immersive local arts festival, Matthew launched Brood X with a film showcase featuring exclusively local filmmakers and awarding winners $2,000 in prize funds.
Molly Kreuzman
Molly is the program director for Ohio Goes to The Movies and has more than 23 years in the film industry. Most recently, she was the founding director of the Cinema Columbus Film Festival and was previously a founding member and later a Board member of the BendFilm Festival, the executive director of Film Southern Oregon, and both director of marketing and director of operations for the Ashland (Oregon) Independent Film Festival. Molly was a co-producer of the film "Phoenix, Oregon," as well as the director and producer of the internationally distributed documentary film "Earth Seasoned…#GapYear." Currently, she is co-producing the narrative feature "Down to The Felt" and producing the documentary "The Forgotten Chord."
